Merit scholarship recipients are selected by an Admissions Merit Scholarship Committee. There is no separate application required for merit scholarships; every admitted applicant is automatically considered. Selection criteria include: - Prior academic achievement. - Demonstrated leadership qualities. - Involvement in the community. - Extracurricular activities. - Professional accomplishments. - Ability to contribute to the Fuqua community.

Merit scholarship awards are generally for the entire 2-year duration of the MBA program. However, Fuqua typically does not have funding for new scholarship awards in the second year. Therefore, students who enroll without scholarship funding in their first year should not anticipate an award for the second year. If an admitted applicant defers their enrollment, any scholarship awarded in the initial year is not guaranteed for the subsequent matriculation year and will be re-evaluated during the admissions cycle prior to matriculation.
